Pierre Loti Cafe
It is very common that visitors from different countries go to this cafe located on the hill after they visit the Eyüp Sultan Mosque. This cafe was named for a French novelist who had come here for inspiration to write his masterpieces over and over again. The author came Istanbul many different times and every time, in each book, he included several motifs related to Istanbul.
Pierre Loti Cafe is famous for its coffees, teas, ice creams, and also nargile which are a kind of tobacco product and an example of Turkish tradition.
This is the brief direction to arrive the cafe: Walk out of the mosque’s main gate and turn right. Walk around the complex. After you see a set of stairs and a cobbled path going uphill into the Cemetery of the Great Eyüp, you need to walk up the hill for 15 minutes.
